From Fall 2005 through Spring 2009, 1895 (48%) of the 3966 students in the 2005FL FTIC cohort enrolled in the gateway course GOVT 2305 with 1238 (65%) of them successfully completing the course.

Graph 1 presents the total enrollments in GOVT 2305 as well as completion rates by race/ethnicity. Black students and those in the “Other” category had the lowest completion rates (63% and 59%, respectively) while Asian students had the highest (70%).

Graph 2 presents the total enrollments in GOVT 2305 as well as completion rates by Pell status (recipient vs. non-recipient). Pell recipients had a higher completion rate (67%) than non-recipients (65%).

Graph 3 presents the total enrollments in GOVT 2305 as well as completion rates by age group. Students in the “20 - 24” category had the lowest completion rate (63%) while those in the “25+” category had the highest (72%).

Graph 4 presents the total enrollments in GOVT 2305 as well as completion rates by gender. Female students had a higher completion rate (69%) than male (61%).
