Project SSStrong Goals

Title III, Project SSStrong, Achieving the Dream Leader College Goal 1

Tarrant County College District (TCCD) will increase levels of success for First-Time-In-College (FTIC) students who demonstrate a need for remediation in 1 or more essential skill areas necessary for college-level achievement (reading, writing, mathematics).

Expected Outcomes and Measures

  • 1.1 Increase targeted levels of success in developmental education by 10 percent in 5 years.
  • 1.2 Increase targeted FTIC college readiness skills completions by 10 percent in 5 years.

Goal 2

TCCD will increase faculty and staff knowledge and skills necessary to implement promising and best practices focused on increasing levels of success, rates of persistence and rates of graduation among our students.

Expected Outcomes and Measures

  • 2.1. Increase College-wide participation in student achievement-focused professional development to a level of 80 percent during the 5-year project.
  • 2.2. Increase faculty/staff engagement in action research on student achievement to a level of 25 percent in 5 years.

Goal 3

TCCD will increase rates of persistence and graduation among our students, with special focus on African-American and Hispanic student populations

Expected Outcomes and Measures

  • 3.1. Increase targeted persistence rates by 5 percent in each sub-category in 5 years.
  • 3.2. Increase targeted graduation and transfer rates by 2 percent per category in 5 years.
