Tarrant County College Offers Green Classes

FORT WORTH, Texas (Jan. 25, 2010)

New classes in Green Technology at Tarrant County College South Campus show the College's most recent commitment to sustainability.

Jan. 30 is the deadline to register for two courses, Wind Power Delivery System and Energy Management. Classes begin Saturday and continue through May 8.

The courses are among six developed by TCC's Electronics, Engineering and Manufacturing Technologies Department and Continuing Education Services. Other classes are Energy Conservation, Solar Fundamentals, Introduction to Wind Energy and Wind Business.

"Energy is one of the industry clusters being targeted for location to Texas by state leaders," said Thomas Hart, EEMT department chair. "As these companies move to our state, we will need to have a skilled workforce ready to fill the jobs they will bring."
