Tarrant County College Northeast Campus to Host International Festival April 13-14

Lectures, exhibits, live performances and movies are among cultural events during the two-day International Festival at Tarrant County College Northeast Campus, 828 W. Harwood Rd. in Hurst. 

Juan Hernandez, a political consultant in Guatemala, Canada, the United States and Mexico, will discuss "The New American Pioneer--The Latino Agenda in 2010," at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 13, in the Student Center, Center Corner, Room 1615A.

The library will feature the Al Mogor African Art Exhibit, Ivette Ramos Art Exhibit, "Por los senderos de micreativida", and the Elsa Levy Book Exhibit. On display in the Student Center, Center Corner, are international photography and currency exhibits. The Carlos Guerrero Art Exhibit, "Los colores de mi Tierra" can be viewed in the Student Center.

Live performances include Ballet Folklórico Azteca de FW, Mountain View College Latin Jazz Ensemble, and Grupo Pakal: Mayan Performing Arts. Foods from various cultures can be sampled at the "Taste of Cultures of the World" in the Student Center, Center Corner. International cuisine also will be served in the cafeteria.

A movie of the day will be shown in the Student Center during the festival. Available Tuesday is "Bajo la Misma Luna (The Same Moon)," and "El Norte (The North)" will play Wednesday.
