TCC Names First Trinity River Campus Director of Counseling

Tarrant County College has named Louann Schulze, an administrator with more than 25 years' experience in higher education counseling and student services, as the first director of counseling for its new Trinity River Campus.

Schulze was assistant dean for student affairs in The University of Texas at Arlington College of Education and also served as assistant director of counseling services and orientation coordinator at UT-Arlington.

As director, she will supervise Trinity River counselors and academic advisors as well as the coordinators of testing services, disability support services, and career and employment services.

Schulze earned her B.A. in psychology at Texas State University, her M.S. in counseling at Texas A&M University, and her doctorate in higher education administration at the University of North Texas. She is a member of the Texas Counseling Association, the National Academic Advising Association and the National Career Development Association. She is a licensed professional counselor and professional counselor supervisor and holds national certification as a career development facilitator.

Her community service includes serving as a youth leader at First United Methodist Church in Arlington and as a volunteer with the National Marrow Donor Program at Cook Children's Hospital in Fort Worth.
