Planning Process

Tarrant County College constructed its five-year strategic plan through a relatively unique planning process.

Stage 1: Discovery

By gathering information from stakeholders, TCC gained a broad view of the needs of the Tarrant County community as well as the current perception of services offered at TCC.

  • Community Summits
• 1100 individuals participated
• 15,000 comments received/summarized

Stage 2: Design

After gathering input from the stakeholders, an initial framework of goals, strategies and corresponding actions for the College was developed through the meeting of two key teams: the Strategy Team and the TCC Vision 2015 Team.

Stage 3: Refinement and Engagement

Using the framework of goals, strategies and actions, the plan was further refined to produce the Vision 2015 Strategic Plan.

• 15 stakeholder meetings
• 300+ participants

During this stage, participants were encouraged to complete "I will..." statements regarding how each would help make the actions of the strategic plan a reality.
