A non-U.S. citizen whose residence is outside the U.S. and who has not attended any U.S. institution of higher learning is a first-time international applicant.

How to Apply

All documents must be submitted by the deadline. We cannot guarantee admission for late submissions. No fax or previously made photocopies will be accepted.

  1. Download the International Student Application (PDF will open in new window) and submit.
  2. Submit official transcripts from high school and/or all colleges/universities attended in and outside the U.S.
  3. Passing TOEFL scores - Internet-based (71), Computer-based (193), Paper-based (525) or Passing IELTS score (Academic): Overall Band Score (5.7)
  4. Financial documents must be original, completely filled out, cannot be over 6 months old, and accounts must have a minimum balance of $29,409 U.S. dollars. Financial documents may be turned in in-person; scanned and emailed to; or mailed to the International Admissions Office.

  5. Submit evidence of Meningococcal Meningitis Vaccination (if new to TCC and under 22 years old).

Meningococcal Meningitis Vaccination Requirement Beginning Spring 2012

The 82nd Texas Legislature approved Senate Bill 1107, which requires all new TCC students under the age of 22 to submit evidence of being immunized against meningococcal meningitis at least 10 days prior to their first term at TCC.

This requirement also applies to returning TCC students who have experienced a break in enrollment of at least one fall or spring term.

Upon Arrival to the U.S.

Students must be in the Dallas/Fort Worth area three weeks prior to the first day of classes. The below items are required when the student arrives in the U.S. and before registering for courses.

  • Originals of I-94, passport and visa (The International Admissions Office will need to make
    copies from original documents).
  • TSI Assessment/THEA scores - Passing Reading AND Writing scores are required.
    • There is a $29 non-refundable fee for the TSI Assessment exam.
  • A degree plan of the major you are pursuing at TCC.
  • Proof of health insurance will be required before being allowed to enroll. Health insurance
    must be purchased for the entire academic year and must show the coverage dates.
  • Create and send email via myTCC. myTCC is the email system used by
    TCC. You are required to obtain and use it as your official email address.
