Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Our Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program is a 100-hour course approved by the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services.

After completing 60 hours of course work and 40 hours of clinical in a long-term care facility, you will be prepared to provide nursing-related bedside care in healthcare facilities.

You will gain the skills and knowledge you need to prepare for and take the Certified Nursing Assistant Exam, which is included in the program.

Nurse aides must successfully complete this course and pass written and skills performance exams to be listed in the Texas Nurse Aide Registry.

Course Requirements

  • Be 18 years old
  • Provide copy of high school diploma or GED certificate
  • Pass reading and basic math tests, which are required for entry.
    Please call for test dates three months before class starts.
  • Have current healthcare provider CPR
  • Provide documentation of required immunizations:
    • Chicken Pox (Varicella)
    • Hepatitis B
    • Influenza
    • Mumps/Measles/Rubella
    • TdaP
    • Tuberculosis skin test (negative)

A drug screen and criminal background check will be conducted on students applying for enrollment.

Orientation Session

You must attend an orientation session; it is mandatory for acceptance to the program.
