Program Content

There are 580 hours required for completion of this program at TCC. The state of Texas requires a minimum of 500 hours to become a certified therapist. Courses in the program include:

  • Anatomy and Physiology (80 hours)
  • Massage Fundamentals I and II
    (128 hours and 112 hours, respectively)
  • Business and Ethics (48 hours)
  • Health and Hygiene (32 hours)
  • Pathology (48 hours)
  • Kinesiology (50 hours)
  • Hydrotherapy (32 hours)
  • Clinical Internship (50 hours)

Day and Evening Programs Available

We understand that everyone has certain scheduling needs and that frustration sometimes goes along with those needs; therefore, we are providing both a full-time day program and a part-time evening program.

Full-time Day Program

The Massage Therapy Certification full-time day program takes approximately five and a half months to complete.

  • Starts December 1, 2014, and will end May 21, 2015
  • Classes will meet every Monday – Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and on select Fridays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. for clinicals during the second quarter of the program

Part-time Evening Program

The Massage Therapy Certification part-time evening program takes approximately eight months to complete.

  • Starts June 9, 2015, and ends late February 2016
  • Classes will meet every Monday – Thursday from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. and on select Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for clinicals during the second half of the program

This program is geared toward people who want to enroll and graduate as soon as possible. Alternate schedules (i.e., half days) are not allowed. Please inquire and apply early, as there are a limited number of seats available.
