Massage Therapy

The Tarrant County College Massage Therapy Certification Program, offered only through South Campus Continuing Education Services, is a program that is geared toward students of all ages and learning levels. Students will be taught using three methods: visual, lecture/aural, and tactile/kinesthetic.

This program offers a full-time day program and a part-time evening program. Each program is limited to 10 students--prospective students are encouraged to inquire early.

Upon completion, students will graduate with a Certificate of Swedish Massage and will be ready to work in any environment that does not require specialization. Students will learn to perform:

  • Chair massage
  • Hot stone massage
  • Deep tissue massage
  • Simple reflexology foot massage
  • Two-therapist massage treatment designed in collaboration with a classmate

There is still demand for massage therapists in the DFW area, despite economic factors. Students will be taught how to market themselves and start their own businesses in the event that they do not find employment immediately upon completion of the program.

Graduates are not licensed Massage Therapists or eligible for employment by any business in the State of Texas until they contact the Texas Department of State Health Services (TX DSHS).
