Retail florists are part of the growing fields of wedding and event planning. Career opportunities are blossoming, and you can be a part of the growth.

What will I learn?

You’ll learn the skills you need to prepare for a career as a floral designer.

Our program focuses on the:

  • Basic elements of design, including flower and foliage identification
  • Care and handling of flowers and foliage
  • Design techniques
  • Creation of impressive arrangements

You'll also learn essential business principles for operating a successful and profitable retail florist shop.

Where can I find a job?

Potential career opportunities as a retail florist include:

  • Floral design shops
  • Greenhouses or nurseries
  • Market/grocery stores
  • Other retail and wholesale plant businesses

What courses will I take?

Four specialized floral design courses--introduction, techniques, special events, and wedding and sympathy—as well as relevant business courses.
