About Our Program
The Dietetic Technician Program is a two-year program leading to the Associate of Applied Science Degree.
Program graduates will be able to:
- Obtain and interpret body measurements
- Assess and evaluate dietary intake
- Plan and modify menus
- Counsel patients on various meal plans
- Provide nutrition recommendations
- Promote health and wellness through nutrition
- Supervise food production
- Instruct food service staff on food sanitation
- Maintain and improve food inventory control
The TCC Dietetic Technician Program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND).
Graduates of the TCC Dietetic Technician Program are eligible to take the national Dietetic Technician, Registered, credentialing examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). Those who pass the exam and maintain continuing education requirements may use the title Dietetic Technician, Registered or DTR, which is recognized throughout the United States.
