English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
This program is available on the Northeast, Northwest and Trinity River campuses.
The program consists of developmental courses for non-native English speakers who:
- Want to learn English with academic emphasis.
- Want to take other credit courses.
- Desire a fast track English curriculum.
- Plan to earn an academic degree or certificate.
Developmental courses do not earn credit and are not transferable. Additionally, grades are not computed in grade point average (GPA).
To enroll:
- Meet with an Acadmic Advisor or ESOL Coordinator
- Complete the admissions process
- Take the ESL placement exam or Accuplacer in the testing center
- Register for courses online
English as a Second Language (ESL) courses offered through Continuing Education do not require formal admission into the College.
