English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)

This program is available on the Northeast, Northwest and Trinity River campuses.

The program consists of developmental courses for non-native English speakers who:

  • Want to learn English with academic emphasis.
  • Want to take other credit courses.
  • Desire a fast track English curriculum.
  • Plan to earn an academic degree or certificate.

Developmental courses do not earn credit and are not transferable. Additionally, grades are not computed in grade point average (GPA).

To enroll:

  1. Meet with an Acadmic Advisor or ESOL Coordinator
  2. Complete the admissions process
  3. Take the ESL placement exam or Accuplacer in the testing center
  4. Register for courses online

English as a Second Language (ESL) courses offered through Continuing Education do not require formal admission into the College.
