Career Coach buttonESOL is available on the Northeast, Northwest, Southeast and Trinity River campuses.

The program consists of college prep/developmental courses for non-native English speakers who:

  • Want to improve their academic listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in English
  • Want to take additional credit courses with an academic focus
  • Plan to earn an academic degree or certificate

To enroll:

  1. Meet with an academic advisor or ESOL advisor.
  2. Complete the admissions process.
  3. Take the ESOL placement exam or ACCUPLACER in the testing center.
  4. See an academic advisor or ESOL advisor who will grant you a petition, if needed. This will then allow you to register.
  5. Go to Web Advisor and register for courses.

Please contact an ESOL advisor for assistance with registration, if needed.

Please note:

  • Developmental courses do not earn credit and are not transferable.
  • ESOL grades are not computed in the grade point average (GPA).
