What is the difference between ESL and ESOL?

English as a Second Language (ESL)

Starts with basic English and focuses on your language proficiency for everyday life. ESL classes are available through the Community & Industry Education.

English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)

Helps you develop the academic English skills needed for college classes. Grammar, college-level vocabulary, essay writing and listening in the classroom are a few examples.

Are you a non-native English speaking student?

Our ESOL program can help you develop the academic English needed for college.

Whether you are already taking college classes or are preparing for the next step toward English proficiency, ESOL classes will improve your speaking, listening, reading and writing skills.

We want to help you reach your language and your educational goals!
