High school students interested in a technical career can earn advanced placement credit toward a college degree through TechPrep.

Texas Prefreshman Engineering Program

Tex-PREP is a summer program offered on TCC campuses that provides middle and high school students the opportunity to earn high school credit.

Courses prepare students for careers in technical fields by teaching abstract reasoning and problem-solving skills.

Two sessions are offered, one for grades 7-8 and one for grades 7-10. Space is first-come, first-served.

Eligibility

Students must have/meet the following guidelines:

  • Average of 85 or better
  • Good standing in all courses with satisfactory grades in conduct
  • Parental consent to participate

Application

Students must submit two satisfactory nominations, an essay and an application.
