The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program is a selective admission, two-year Associate of Applied Science degree program.
The program curriculum consists of five consecutive semesters and begins in the fall semester each year. During the second half of the program, students attend clinical rotations at participating physical therapy facilities, hospitals, and nursing homes. PTA courses, including clinical courses, are offered only during the daytime hours. One semester of Saturday classes is also required.

Our program is fully accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE). Graduation from a CAPTE-accredited program is a requisite for application for Texas licensure as a PTA. Licensure in Texas is provided by the Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.
