Program Application
The Physical Therapist Assistant Program is Selective Admissions, which means you have to meet certain requirements to apply. The grades you earned in school also figure into your eligibility in the Applicant Score.
Application Requirements
For your application to be considered, you must:
- Be accepted as a student to TCC
- Have submitted a Research Paper to the program coordinator:

- Meet Texas Success Initiative (TSI) requirements
- Pass the Texas Higher Education Assessment (THEA) test for Reading, Writing & Intermediate Algebra
or - Pass the ACCUPLACER exam for Reading, Writing, and Intermediate Algebra
or - Earn a “C” or higher in
- MATH 0350
- RDNG 0363
- ENGL 0325
- Pass the Texas Higher Education Assessment (THEA) test for Reading, Writing & Intermediate Algebra
Applicant Score
Students who participate in the program are selected based on the Applicant Score.
Applicant Score = Cumulative Grade Point Average + Bonus Points
Bonus Points are assigned based on the grades you earned in school before applying to this program.
