Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management

Career Coach buttonThe focus of the Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management Program is to prepare students to start their own entrepreneurial venture and/or become a small business manager by providing them with appropriate business skills relevant to the small firm.

An Associate of Applied Science degree and certificates of completion are offered on the Northwest Campus. The small business courses focus on:

  • How to recognize entrepreneurial opportunities, and create and grow businesses from those opportunities
  • Components of a viable business plan
  • Management, leadership and communication skills for running and growing a business
  • Designing an effective strategy for marketing, customer service, selling and relationship building
  • Techniques for analyzing costs, preparing financial documents, financial reporting requirements, and securing and managing the financial aspects of the firm
