Distance Learning

Career Coach buttonThe Center for Distance Learning extends the reach of Tarrant County College beyond the traditional classroom directly into our community. The Center serves as the operating center for all courses offered through Instructional Television (ITV) and the Internet (CDI).

The Center for Distance Learning currently offers over 250 college credit courses allowing students to learn in real time making it easier to fit pursuing higher education in with other responsibilities. Students may choose to combine online learning with campus classes, or students may take an entire program online, thereby accommodating even the busiest schedules.

New Assessment Requirement

In an effort to better help our distance learning students be successful in their online courses, TCC has implemented the use of the SmarterMeasure assessment as a tool to help qualify students for taking an online class. Students who have never taken a distance learning course, or did not receive a grade of C or better in an Internet course, are required to successfully complete the SmarterMeasure assessment before they will be able to register.
