Andre McEwing

André McEwing Morehouse College graduate and TCC alumnus André McEwing spends his days working to transform Southeast Fort Worth into a bustling community with viable business and family-friendly residential areas.

As president and CEO of Southeast Fort Worth, Inc., McEwing helps investors and developers visualize the potential he sees in a neighborhood that could be filled with retail, entertainment, residential and mixed-use development in one of the fastest-growing cities in America.

McEwing started his college education at TCC by taking classes in the summers before and after his senior year in high school. It was a decision based on advice from his father, retired South Campus Dean of Student Development Services Mitchell McEwing.

"Just being in a college setting - an environment where I was taking collegiate courses - put me in a different mindset," said McEwing, whose career has included staff and managerial positions in such diverse industries as aerospace, consumer goods, banking and finance.

Promoting Southeast Fort Worth to those unfamiliar with its value gives McEwing a sense of accomplishment. He knows one day the "healthy community" will move from the vision described in its Grow Southeast Blueprint to a place "with plazas and enhanced open spaces...(that) will beckon the shopper, office worker or sales associate to step out and enjoy the beauty of the out-of-doors."
