Students must exercise their liberties with responsibility. To secure conditions conducive to the freedom to teach and to learn, the College has a duty to develop policies and procedures which provide and safeguard these liberties.
Student grades will be evaluated solely on an academic basis, not on opinions or conduct in matters unrelated to academic situations. Students are responsible for learning the content of any course of study in which they are enrolled and have the right to appeal a grade.
Scholastic dishonesty is unacceptable and is not tolerated.
By enrolling in TCC, students will assume responsibility for their own behavior.
The lack of consideration for others shown by students who create disruption and distractions in classes by inappropriate and untimely laughing and talking, general inattentiveness and tardiness are not tolerated. Cellular telephones and beepers should be turned off during class unless prior approval is received from the instructor.
Upon the recommendation of a classroom, laboratory or clinical instructor, the vice president of student development services can administratively withdraw any student from a class because of the student's disruptive, disrespectful or insubordinate behavior.
The Campus Discipline Committee makes recommendations to the president of the campus as to what disciplinary action should be taken - disciplinary warning, probation, suspension or expulsion.
A written request to appeal the decision must be filed by the student with the vice president of student development services within ten (10) days after the initial decision was made.

If students feel they have been discriminated against based on sex, race, color, national origin, veteran status, handicapped or age, they are to file a complaint with the College District compliance officer for Title IX, Section 504, and the Americans with Disabilities Act:
