Campuses announce wellness, intramural opportunities

 The health and physical education department on each campus offers recreational activities for student and faculty sports enthusiasts.
The intramural activities are part of a wellness-based incentive program that encourages everyone to exercise.
SE Campus offers ping-pong starting in February and golf, tennis, ultimate Frisbee and a fun run in April.
Another event is the 3-on-3 hoops, scheduled for March. Interested students and faculty should contact David Williams at 817-515-3602 or Jason Wooten at 817-515-3601.
The NE Campus has scheduled entry deadlines and start dates for several spring activities.
Entries for basketball free throw are due by Friday, Feb. 6, for play that begins on the same date.
Bowling meets for free play at Show Place Lanes at 12:45 p.m. starting Feb. 27.
Racquetball entries are due March 26, and players meet on the courts that day.
Putt-Putt meets at Mountasia starting April 2 at 1 p.m. Entries are due the same day, and all play is free.
Participants must sign up for sand volleyball by April 16 for games that start at 1 p.m. that day.
A one-mile fun run is scheduled April 30 at 1 p.m. Entries are due the same day, and runners will meet at the trail at the tennis court gate.
NE has year-long activities that include the jogging club, cycling, swimming and basketball.
Basketball will include league play that starts Feb. 18, with entries due by Feb. 11.
South Campus 3-on-3 basketball entries were due yesterday, and games begin Feb. 17. Interested students should visit the gym to see about enrollment.
March madness entries are due March 2, with the three-point shoot out and the free-throw competition starting March 18.
March 16 is the entry deadline for faculty/staff soccer game, scheduled for April 8.
A faculty/staff softball game is scheduled April 29 with entries due by April 8.
The Century Club, a student service supported by the South Campus HPE department, encourages semester-long wellness participation.
Students and faculty can earn prizes by meeting specific goals. All Century Club activities must be performed on the campus during free recreational time and not during a PE class.
NW Campus activities were not available at press time.
