Golfers to aid
Cancer Society
with course pass
Golfers can hit the links all over the state and help the American Cancer
Society by purchasing a 2004 Texas Golf Pass.
To raise funds to help fight cancer in Texas, the Cancer Society has
teamed with more than 270 Texas golf courses.
“It’s a super deal,” Lori Sundeen Soderbergh, ACS
communications director for Tarrant and Denton counties, said in a phone
interview.
Ten golf courses in the Metroplex will honor the pass, which expires
Dec. 31.
The courses teamed with the ACS have donated green fees, but golfers
will have some restrictions at certain courses.
Reservations must be made from 24 to 72 hours in advance, and golfers
must specify that the cancer pass will be used.
Green fees are covered at most courses, but cart and other fees are
not. Patrons must pay those fees, set by the golf club.
Some courses are open to the pass only on weekdays and during certain
times of the day.
To order a golf pass, call 1-800-ACS-2345 or go to www.texasgolfpass.com.
Golfers can also visit the Fort Worth office at 3301 West Freeway or
call Soderbergh at 817-737-9990.
“They [the passes] are very popular with Texas Golfers,”
Soderbergh said. “It’s a good thing, and it helps the American
Cancer Society.”
