Theater season
to open Laramie
as spring drama

A play based on the death of a gay Wyoming college student opens the spring drama season on NE Campus.
Laramie Project by Moisés Kaufman runs Wednesday-Saturday, March 3-6, at 8 p.m. with 2 p.m. matinees on Thursday and Saturday.
In 1998 two residents killed Matthew Shepard, a student at the University of Wyoming.
During the next year, members of Kaufman’s Tectonic Theater Project interviewed the townspeople.
Among the voices are a policewoman, Catholic priest, lesbian college professor, Matthew's killers and an anti-gay protester.
Laramie Project describes the murder and the convictions of the killers, Aaron McKinney and Russell Henderson. The play delves into the events from the viewpoint of Laramie residents.
The NE season closes on a more upbeat note.
Musical Theater Workshop students will present their show April 21-24. At press time, the musical selection had not been announced.
