NE Campus
Feb. 9-27 Toward a Better Living for Rural Texas Blacks, 1930-1960,
a traveling photographic exhibition, will be on display in the North
Hallway of the Student Center. The exhibit pays tribute to the black
Texans who worked with county and home demonstration agents to improve
their standards of living.
Feb. 11 Joyce King, author of Hate Crime: The Story of the Dragging
in Jasper, Texas, will talk to students at 11:15 a.m. in the NSTU Center
Corner. Lunch will be served. For reservations, call 817-515-6644 by
Feb. 6.
NW Campus
Feb. 25 Brenda Parker will discuss black history and overcoming obstacles
from 11 a.m. to noon in the NW Theater. More details will appear later.
South Campus
Today-Feb. 29 Blacks in the Armed Forces, a photo panel exhibit, pays
tribute to black military units, including the Civil War, Buffalo Soldiers
and Tuskegee Airmen.
Feb. 6 A variety of performers will participate in Kuumba Celebration
7:30-9:30 p.m. in the Recital Hall.
Feb. 9 A gospel hour will feature the TCC Voices United Gospel Choir,
12:30 p.m. in the SSTU Dining Room.
Feb. 12 Open Mic Poetry with soft music and refreshments, 12:30-1:30
p.m. in the SSTU Forum Room.
Feb. 14 Dr. Elizabeth Branch will moderate Having Our Say for the Love
of Our Children and Their Education Success: How and Why You Make a
Difference in the Entire Community, an open panel discussion12:30-1:30
p.m. in SSTU Living Room.
Feb. 19 The U.S. Army Interactive Mobile Exhibit will be on display
10 a.m.-2 p.m. in the SSTU patio.
Feb. 19 Soul Food Day will feature entertainment by the South Campus
jazz Combo 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. in the SSTU Dining Room. Tickets are $2.
SE Campus
Today SE student activities presents motivational speaker Robert E.
Criner in the Roberson Theatre at 3 p.m. Criner’s topic is The
How Tos of Setting and Achieving Goals.
Feb. 10 Lift Every Voice will feature former Mayor Elzie D. Odom in
the Roberson Theatre 10-11 a.m. Odom will discuss his ancestors’
lives.
Every Monday SE Campus Food Services will include soul food on the menu
during February.
