The Rho Chi chapter of Phi Theta Kappa on South Campus
is collecting printer cartridges for recycling as a fund-raiser. In
addition, they are collecting old cell phones to be distributed to abused
women and others in need of phones for emergency purposes only. Contact

Today Career Development on South Campus opens its Job Search seminars
with Ten Steps to Planning Your Career. The presenter will guide students
through the steps for planning a career pathway 2-3 p.m. in the SSTU
Texas Room.
Today SE student activities and the U.S. Army are sponsoring Mavericks/US
Army College Tour at the Main Entrance of the campus from 11:30 a.m.
to 1:30 p.m. A Hummer/SUV is on display and students are invited to
participate in games such as Hoop Shoot Out, Football Toss and Push
Up Challenge to win Maverick tickets and more. The Dallas Mavericks
Dancers are on site to sign autographs. The Wild 100 radio station will
participate as well.
Feb. 4–16 The SE Student Ambassadors are taking donations of personal
items such as toiletries, snack foods and stationary to send to U.S.
troops in the Middle East as a belated Valentine. Donation boxes are
in front of the counseling office, in the Main Commons and Sub Commons.

Feb. 9 –13 The SE International Asian Students Organization will
sell raffle tickets for a Valentine gift basket in the Main Commons;
tickets are $1. Tickets can be purchased between 9:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.,
and the winner will be announced Friday afternoon. Ticket holders do
not have to be present to win. The IASO will also sell Valentine gifts
such as balloons, candy, teddy bears and small gift baskets. A portion
of the proceeds will benefit the Green Oaks School of Arlington for
children with Down’s syndrome.
Feb. 12, 16, 24 Recruiters from UPS will be in SE Campus career and
employment services Feb. 12, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.; Feb. 16, 5 p.m.–7
p.m.; Feb. 24, 11 a.m.–1 p.m.
Feb. 13 South Campus intramural sports table tennis and racquetball
games start today. Faculty/Staff soccer game is Feb. 26. Interested

Feb. 17 Stress: Coping With the Pressures of School, Work and Family
will be presented by Sandra Johnson, counselor, on the South Campus
in SSTU Texas Room 12:30-1:30 p.m.

Feb. 18 An informative session on test-taking strategies and revised
state testing rules will be presented in the College Hall (NCAB 1111)
on the NE Campus 12:20-1:50 p.m.
Feb. 18 The TCC Computer User Group presents Government Internet URLs.
The guest speaker is Wanda Hill, South Campus associate professor of
government. The meeting is on NE Campus in the NSTU Center Corner 1-4
p.m.
Feb. 19 Practical Money Skills for Life will explore personal money
management strategies. The seminar, sponsored by the NE Campus counseling
center, is scheduled in College Hall (NCAB 1111) 1-1:50 p.m.
Feb. 19 SE Campus career and employment services will hold resume and
interviewing seminars in the North Ballroom. Resume samples and guidelines
will be presented at 9-10 a.m. and again at 4-5 p.m. Interviewing preparation
and techniques is scheduled for 10:15-11:15 a.m. and again at 5:15-6:15
p.m.
Feb. 23 NE Campus presents Communication/Motivation, a seminar sponsored
by the counseling center, in College Hall (NCAB 1111) 2-3 p.m.
