Budget films take top spots
(KRT) Just when all
the pundits turned their heads to watch the parade of Oscar contenders,
Hollywood served up a handful of hits.
Nine of the weekend's top 10 flicks will easily finish in the black,
led by the dynamic duo of Barbershop 2: Back in Business, which had
the fourth-highest February debut in history, and Miracle.
The Olympic feel-good flick took second place in ratings.
Bargain-of-the-month honors go to You Got Served, a street-dancing cheapie
that cost just $8 million and has raked in $26 million in two weeks.
The film teamed with Barbershop 2 to demonstrate the burgeoning financial
chops of the hip-hop nation.
