Famed trial lawyer to visit NE

I Believe I Can Fly, acclaimed trial attorney Ted J. Williams’ story of triumph over prejudice, will be given at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, in the NE Campus Student Center.
Williams will discuss his personal and professional journey in college, with the Washington, D.C., Police Department, then as a criminal federal agent and today as a criminal and civil trial attorney.
Williams has defended such controversial cases as the 8-year-old black honor student accused by a U.S. congressman of attempted carjacking.
One of the stars of Power of Attorney, a nationally television series, Williams has represented citizens across the country in cases involving personal injury, police brutality, use of excessive force by police officers and discrimination.
The luncheon presentation, in celebration of Black History Month, will be held in the Center Corner, NSTU 1615A. The sponsor, student activities, requires an RSVP by Friday, Feb. 20, for the accompanying lunch.
According to student activities staff, this speech might be of special interest to minority, pre-law and criminal justice students, career counselors and anyone concerned with social injustice.
