Eddy Rawlinson, SE art instructor, and Joel Baker, SE student, participated in Parti Gras, a fund-raiser supporting the Fort Worth Promotion and Development Fund. Rawlinson helped organize the event for Fort Worth Mayor Mike Moncrief by bringing students such as Baker to draw caricatures and help create game booths.

David Hill, NW instructor of aviation maintenance, was recently presented with two prestigious awards from the Federal Aviation Administration. The Phase IV Ruby Aviation Maintenance Technician award is recognition for initial and recurrent training in the field of aviation maintenance. It represents 60 hours of additional training. Hill was also presented with the annual Phase IV Pilot Proficiency Award, which represents the fourth level of training. The Vocational Industrial Clubs of America recently honored Hill with a service award for his direction in conducting the aviation portion of the yearly Skills USA Championship for high school students.

Owen H. Magruder Jr., NW adjunct instructor, is the recipient of the Charles E. Taylor Master Mechanic Award, presented by the Federal Aviation Administration. The recognition represents a minimum of 50 years in the aviation maintenance industry with at least 30 years’ experience as an FAA certified mechanic.

Today The SE counseling center is sponsoring a free seminar series to help students with their knowledge on self-care and healthy relationships. The series called Feeling Good about You and Me will start with Be Good to You, presented in the Lecture Hall ESEE 1301, noon-12:45 p.m.

Today The TCC Computer User Group presents Government Internet URL’s presented by Wanda Hill, South Campus associate professor of government. The meeting is on NE Campus in the NSTU Center Corner 1-4 p.m.
Feb. 19 Practical Money Skills for Life will explore personal money management strategies. Students meet in College Hall (NCAB 1111) on NE Campus 1-1:50 p.m.
Feb. 19 SE Campus career and employment services will hold resume and interviewing seminars in the North Ballroom (Cafeteria). Resume samples and guidelines will be presented 9-10 a.m. and again at 4-5 p.m. Interviewing preparation and techniques will be 9-11:15 a.m. and again at 4-6:15 p.m. Free resume critiquing assistance is available.
Feb. 20 The North Texas CATIA Operators Exchange (NT COE) will hold a scheduled meeting in the South Campus Student Center. The agenda will begin with Cessna Aircraft demonstrating features and applications of Power Copy and User Copy in V5. There will also be two user presentations from Lockheed Martin including a design project in V5 and non-designers experiences with CATIA. The afternoon session will be conducted by IBM. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
Feb. 23 NE Campus presents Communication/Motivation, a seminar sponsored by the counseling center, in College Hall (NCAB 1111) 2-3 p.m.
Feb. 24 NE Campus career and employment services will provide resume critiquing in NSTU 1625A. Students must make an appointment between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Call 817-515-6692 to schedule an appointment.
Feb. 24-25 The NE Astronomy Club will hold a bake sale in the Technology Arts Building lobby between classes.
Feb. 25 Be Good to Your Family, the second seminar in the Feeling Good about You and Me series, will be presented in the Lecture Hall ESEE 1301 noon-12:45 p.m.
Feb. 25 NW Campus health services is offering free hearing screenings to the first 25 people who schedule a screening. Screenings are conducted by Heritage Health Concepts 10 a.m.–3 p.m. in the biofeedback room of the counseling office. Call 817-515-7790 for appointment.
Feb. 27 NE Campus New Games bowling will meet at Show Place Lanes at 1 p.m. for free bowling.
Feb. 28 NE Campus Astronomy Club will sponsor a Star Party at 6:30 p.m. on the lawn between the Science, Fine Arts and P.E. buildings. Students and the general public are invited to come see deep sky objects and planets. Venus, Mars, Saturn, Jupiter and the moon can be seen with various telescopes. The lecture will start at 6:30 p.m. on a subject to be determined.
March 1 Students can learn how to overcome their fear of math by attending Subtract Fear, Multiply Confidence on the NE Campus. This seminar will be from 12:30-2 p.m. in NTAB 2203C.
March 2 South Campus intramural activities deadline for participation in the March Madness three-point shoot out and free throw competition is today. Play begins March 18 with the championship rounds March 30.
March 2 Students can learn how to take notes correctly in Effective Note Taking: Getting the Most out of What the Instructor Says. This seminar will be held on the South Campus in SSTU Texas Room 12:30-1:30 p.m.
March 2 Catherine Simpson, director of Women’s Business Center of Fort Worth, will present Entrepreneurial Expo 2004. Simpson will discuss what it takes to be an entrepreneur on South Campus in the SSTU Living Room 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m.
March 2 & 4 SE Campus career and employment services will offer free resume critiquing assistance in ESEE 2103B-S. Tuesday will be 8-11:30 a.m. and Thursday 2-5 p.m.
March 3 Positive Self-Talk will be presented on South Campus in the SSTU Forum Room 6-6:45 p.m. by Flo Stanton, director of South Campus health services.
March 3 Be Good to Your Brain, a seminar on how eating right can improve learning power, will be presented in the Lecture Hall ESEE 1301 from noon-12:30 p.m.
March 4 Students can learn ways to organize and manage their time effectively with Time Management. This workshop will be on the NE Campus 12:30-1:50 p.m. in College Hall (NCAB 1111).
