Cats special based
on A-Rod trade
The Fort Worth Cats Baseball team will
hold a $2.52 night at LaGrave Field Wednesday, May 12, when the Cats
play Edinburg.
The
Cats decided to schedule the $2.52 night in light of former Texas Ranger
Alex Rodriguez $252 million dollar deal and trade to the Yankees.
The
Cats will discount tickets to $2.52 for bullpen seating and general
admission seats. The team will also sell certain items at the low price
along with food and beverages.
“I
can think of 252 million reasons why we are doing it,” Cats general
manager Monty Clegg said. “I think most fans know what A-Rod’s
10-year deal was worth. We are just having some fun with it.”
The
Cats have affordable pricing (with most seats $4-$10) for baseball fans
in the Fort Worth-Dallas area.
“We
pride ourselves in offering affordable family entertainment,”
Clegg said.
When
the CBS Evening News did a feature on the Cats at the end of the 2002
season, the reporter said it was like going to a county fair.
”That
really describes the atmosphere at Cats games,” Clegg said. “We
hope baseball fans in the area will come see what all the excitement
is about at LaGrave Field.”
The
Cats will also give away $252 to the fan who comes up with the best
Fort Worth Cats sign or poster that night. The May 12 game against Edinburg
is scheduled to start at 7:05 p.m.
