Counselor to aid relationships
Many people, young and old, have seen at least one
episode of HBO’s Sex and the City.
After watching the show, many people have asked themselves the same
questions the characters have: Will my spouse and I stay together?
Will my friendships grow stronger? Can I make my relationship last?
To help TCC students deal with these situations, the Women in New Roles
program along with several other groups will sponsor a presentation
Thursday, March 25, on how to make relationships successful.
Lilia Covio-Calzada, South Campus counselor, will present Making Relationships
Work in the 21st Century on South Campus in the SSTU Bluebonnet Room
at 1 p.m.
“
The topic is popular with students, especially those in the Well Being
support group,” she said.
Calzada said she hopes for interactive discussions among students and
other attendees about relationships. However, the presentation is not
for married couples only; Calzada said the information presented would
be useful for any kind of relationship.
Calzada said she hopes her presentation will help students gain “better
communication with others and self and significant other acceptance.”
