Letter to the editor

  Dear Editor:

In the words of the Irish Revolutionary Patrick Pearse, "We must accustom ourselves to the thought of arms, to the sight of arms, to the use of arms ... bloodshed is a cleansing and sanctifying thing, and the nation which regards it as the final horror has lost its manhood. There are many things more horrible than bloodshed; and slavery is one of them."

Being a man is a way of living. Manhood isn't about making everybody happy. It's about doing what's right.

As a nation, we should be a man about going to war with Iraq.

By definition you can't rationalize with irrational people.

Benjamin Franklin said, "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."

In my opinion, unless we stand up for what is right, we are going to end up being that country that has lost its manhood.

Sincerely,

Aaron Taylor, SE Campus
