NE to stage festival with Hollywood
theme
Hollywood mania will take over NE Campus
for a festival Wednesday, April 16.
Spring Fest, sponsored by student activities
and student organizations, will be 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on the campus center
lawn by the chessboard.
The feature presentation will be a best-dressed
contest at 1 p.m. on the main stage. Participants must dress as a favorite
Hollywood star.
A date auction, sponsored by Student Ambassadors,
will take place on the main stage at 12:22 p.m. for those interested
in buying gift certificates and possibly a date.
Music, food, various activities, massages,
a blood drive and a mini-health fair also will be available.
Participants can have their pictures taken
in a Model A car with a Chicago theme, sponsored by Phi Theta Kappa.
Alpha Beta Gamma, Masters of Motion, PTK
and OLAS will sell food and soft drinks and career & employment, counseling
and TCC police department will hand out information packets.
Respiratory Care Club will sell tickets
with proceeds sending a child to Asthma Camp.
Christian Student Ministry will sponsor
a ring toss; NECAPS will have a wheel demo, hand building pottery and
an orphan pottery sale with a silent auction.
Sigma Tau will have a cakewalk, and Student
Ambassadors will have a duck pluck and a fishing booth.
Prizes will be given out for various contests.
Prize sponsors include Chili's, Fort Worth
Zoo, National Cowgirl Museum, Pappadeaux, Brunswick Bowling and Billiards,
Texas Land & Cattle, T.G.I. Fridays and Laser Quest.
Shooting Star Limousines, Game Works,
Hyena's Comedy Night Club, Putt-Putt, Texas Rangers, Hidden Valley Enterprises,
Stage West, Billy Bob's Texas and Excel Academy of Tae Kwon Do will
provide other awards. Harris Costumes is donating costumes, and Coca
Cola has donated drinks.
