Career availability explored by NE Campus counselor

Students who are looking for a career had a chance to find out what is available in today’s workplace in a recent career workshop on NE Campus.

Luz Zeagler, NE counselor, talked about how students can get a job after they graduate.

In order to make good career choices, Zeagler said students need to be aware of their own personality types.

Zeagler talked about different personalities and asked questions of the students who attended the workshop so that each could determine his or her type of personality.

Students who have no idea what they want to do with their lives should go to the counseling office, Zeagler said.

“ Students who come though the counseling office need direction,” she said.

Students learned that by exploring job opportunities, they can see what jobs are there and what fields they may want to go into.

“ Students have needs and want help with their paths in life,” she said.

“ They also want help with school and staying focus in their classes and studies,” she said.

Zeagler explained some of the fields that students can enter such as arts, scientific, social, business and office operation.

“ Taking an assessment test will give you different options and opportunities,” she said.

Zeagler mentioned jobs that have good salaries. She also talked about jobs available to the graduate.

“ This workshop helped me clarify my options,” Paul Phillips, NE student, said.

Another student Nathan Vick, said, “The speaker helped me narrow my options down.”

Zeagler advised students to know themselves so they could choose a field best for the them.
