New film focuses on development of area museum

   Making the Modern, a documentary about the new Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, will show Sunday, Sept. 21, at 7 p.m. on Channel 13.
   The documentary focuses on the design and construction of the museum as well as Japanese architect, Tadao Ando.
   Ando's design was picked from five building proposals for his use of modern construction techniques that tie the structure in with nature.
   Forty-foot-high transparent walls of glass surrounded by massive planer walls of architectural concrete form the basic structure of the building. The large reflecting pool and the landscape grounds provide public circulation areas.
   Viewers will see the process behind Ando's signature concrete, the key to his Modernist and Japanese influences.
   The documentary gives viewers a chance to see the process of building the Modern and perhaps obtain an appreciation of the building.
