Writers Group, will present Bienvenidos to America: How Latinos Are
Changing the United States-And You Along with It 12:30 p.m.-1:30
p.m. in NSTU Center Corner on NE Campus. Lunch will be provided; call

Eleno Orneales, Rangers coordinator of Spanish broadcasting, will discuss
Latinos in Sports 9:30-11 a.m. in SRTA 132 on South Campus.

27 Ramon Barela One-Person Art Exhibit is on display in the
Lakeview Gallery on NW Campus.

30 An art exhibit featuring Eduardo Aguilar, NW Campus associate
professor of art, will be on display in the South Campus Library. The
exhibit includes a self-portrait of the artist.

2 NE Campus will display Border Studies, a photo exhibition
on patterns of culture along the Texas-Mexico border. The exhibition,
in Student Center North Hallway, includes maps showing border relocations.

15 Camino al norte/The Road North opens on NW Campus in the
Student Center foyer. The exhibit includes photographs and tories about
Don Juan de Onate's 1598 journey. The Texas Council for the Humanities
Resource Center educational display provided the display.

24 SE Campus will hold a Fiesta 11:45 a.m.-2 p.m. in the North Ballroom.
The event includes free food, entertainment and Hispanic music. Among
the performers are Kalpulli Tonai Teokalli, an Aztec dance group, and
mariachis.

8 NE Campus will present Mexihca Danza Culture 12:30-1:30 p.m. in
the NSTU Center Corner. The free event, sponsored by student activities,
features the Kalpulli Tonai Teokalli Grupo Yayollahtli, Aztec dance
group.

9 Ruben Martinez, nationally recognized author, will discuss his
book, Crossing Over, 11:15 a.m.-12:25 p.m. in B118 on NW Campus.
The book deals with Hispanic heritage and border issues. Martinez will
stay after the presentation for a book signing and to answer questions,
