South to sponsor power dress seminar

The yellow power tie is out, according to those people in the know about finding jobs.
Students can find out what else is new in power dressing for an interview and how to sell themselves for the job at a seminar next week.
The South Campus career center is sponsoring a class Thursday, Sept. 25, 2-3 p.m. in the SSTU Texas Room to help students prepare for a job interview. Organizers will tackle issues from dressing professionally to making oneself a uniquely qualified candidate.
The session will be led by Monica Carrasco-Bettle, career center coordinator. Bettle holds a master's in counseling and public administration and has spoken to several academic classes as well.
This seminar will be displayed as a PowerPoint presentation and targets students searching for employment and/or refining their job search skills.
Part of Job Search Seminars, the series will also include classes on resume writing, career planning, careers in teaching, salary negotiating, a home-based business seminar and careers in the global market.
For more information on this class or the other classes, call the career center at 817-515-4551.
