Counselors ready math workshops to aid
NE students
Subtract Fear, Multiply Confidence
will help students deal with the anxiety of math.
The workshop is Tuesday, Sept. 30, at 12:45 p.m. in NTAB
249, presented by the NE counseling center.
Students will learn how to tackle math head on by proven
techniques and build confidence in their abilities. Students can feel
the sense of accomplishment of overcoming one the most difficult subjects,
Richard Vela counselor and workshop leader, said.
"I am going to help push study habits and will stress
having a positive attitude," he said.
Students are also going to talk about having confidence
and will learn about the "B rule and how it works, free tutoring
and the math lab.
This workshop is interactive, so Vela wants to hear about
experiences students have had to try to help them succeed in math.
The session will be repeated Tuesday, Oct. 21, at 5 p.m.
in NTAB 249.
