New Horizons Student Organization on SE Campus is conducting a Tupperware fund-raiser now through Tuesday, Sept. 30. For more information, contact Penny Matthes at 817-515-3575 or a member of New Horizons.

The Black Legacy Student Organization and student developmental services on SE Campus will hold a holiday fund-raiser Sept. 30-Oct. 25. Proceeds will go toward adopting a family for Thanksgiving. Tickets to win a TV can be purchased for $1 from club members. The drawing will be held Oct. 27 at 3 p.m. in the SE Campus Main Commons.

Today Connie Alexander, NW counselor, will present Anxiety, 12:30-1:30 p.m. in C-112 on NW Campus. She will tell participants how to recognize anxiety and depression, how to deal with these problems and where to find help.

Today Mike Eason, counselor, will present What You Need To Know Now To Transfer Later noon-12:45 p.m. in SEE 130. The seminar is part of the SE counseling student success workshop series.

Today-Sept. 25 The Student Dietetics Organization on SE Campus will sponsor a health awareness table in the Main Commons 10 a.m-2 p.m. The group will have nutritional information and flyers available and will sell fruit, vegetable bags, granola bars and bagels. Sept. 25 Students who never seem to have enough time might benefit from Time Management presented by NE Campus counseling center, 12:30-2 p.m. in CAB 112.

Sept. 25 Anyone wanting to enter the job market might benefit from Are You Prepared for an Interview sponsored by South Campus Career Development 2-3 p.m. in the Texas Room. The presentation is part of the Job Search Seminars.

Sept. 25 LuAnn Krey presents Resume 12:30-1:30 p.m. in C-112 on NW Campus. The workshop will help students improve their resumes in the ways employers like to see.

Sept. 26 Students who are not sure what career path they want to follow might attend Pathway to Success ... Personality, College Degree, Career on NW Campus in C-112 12:30-1:30 p.m. The seminar will cover why personality types influence career choices.

Sept. 26 Poets and poetry fans should attend A Poetry Explosion 7-8:30 p.m. in the SE Campus North Ball Room, sponsored by the Black Legacy Student Organization. Food and drinks can be purchased. The event will be repeated on Nov. 21. All proceeds go to buy angels for Christmas Angel Trees.

Sept. 30 PTK chapters on all four campuses are sponsoring a satellite seminar for all students, faculty and staff. America's Health Care System: How Good Is It and How Is It Changing? 6:30 p.m.-8 p.m. See adjacent story for exact locations and other details.

Sept. 30 NE Campus counseling center will present Subtract Fear, Multiply Confidence 12:45Ð2 p.m. in NATB 249. The free seminar will help student develop a positive attitude toward math and overcome math anxiety.

Oct. 1 Do You Have Your Own.Com Yet? will be at 12:30-1:30 p.m. in C-112 on NW Campus. Sponsored by the counseling center, the free workshop will help students learn how to establish their own dot.coms.

Oct. 1 Flo Stanton, South Campus nurse, presents her second health seminar: Positive Self-Talk 6-6:45 p.m. in SSTU Forum Room. The event is scheduled to build confidence in time for mid-term exams.

Oct. 1 Note and Test Taking as if Your Life Depends on It will be offered noon-12:45 p.m. in SEE 130 on SE Campus. Randy Saleh and Cyrus Crosby, SE academic advisors, will conduct the seminar, part of the counseling center brown bag lunch Student Success Workshop series.

Oct. 1 Robert Phanelson will present Characteristics of Highly Effective Students, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. in the North Ballroom on SE Campus. Phanelson, SE counselor, will discuss effective strategies for classroom success, out-of-class skills that contribute to academic achievement and techniques for not self-destructing.
