Protesters forgetting respect for others
by Keith Ludwick, Photo Editor

I recently attended a rally against homosexual attendance at the Ballpark in Arlington. I was a bit disturbed by what I witnessed.
Children were being displayed and used as emotional pawns. They appeared to be no more than clones of their parent's beliefs.
I photographed a mother who had attached an anti-homosexual sign to her baby's stroller. She simply stopped and smiled, proud of her display, as I snapped the photograph.
Does it not occur to these folks that their actions are generally offensive to the general public? No, I suppose they don't see things the way I do.
It seems to me that they don't do too much thinking at all. They may mean well-in accordance with their belief structure-but are doing more harm than good.
Listening to some of these protesters almost makes me believe that we are back in the days of the Spanish Inquisition. Were it not for a large showing of police officers, I sincerely believe that some of the radicals would have been willing to do more than just shout and hold signs.
I heard messages that predominantly revolved around hate and intolerance. There was no unconditional love or forgiveness coming from this crowd. But I bet they would claim otherwise.
What would Jesus do? I doubt that he would have held protests and signs reading "Homosexuals molest children."
Well, priests have molested children. Where were all of the protesters then? Strangely, they were nowhere to be found.

In my way of thinking, homosexuals are born the way they are. I do not remember ever having to ask myself which sex I most prefer. I simply followed my instincts. Choice never played a role.
When faced with that argument, the radicals say that homosexuals must suppress what they are so as not to violate God's law.
What they don't realize is that they themselves have already nullified their argument. If a man is born as a homosexual, doesn't that mean God made a mistake? But I thought God is perfect and doesn't make mistakes
Unfortunately, logic is generally lost on these kindly and God-fearing folks. They are deafened by their own insecurities, fears and biases. As a result, Christianity as a whole is under constant assault in our society.
I think Jesus would have thrown a lot of very large stones at the Arlington protesters.
