PTK to meet at A&M

TCC student academic leaders are getting ready to learn how to lead their chapters to Five-Star status, the highest honor a Phi Theta Kappa chapter can obtain.
Select officers and members of each campus' honor society chapter will be heading to Commerce, Thursday, Sept. 25, for the PTK Regional Leadership Conference.
In Commerce, the students will be welcomed to Texas A&M by Dr. Joe D. Webber, dean of students and Dr. Thad Anglin, dean of enrollment management.
The leadership tone of the conference will be introduced with the presentation of "Choices in Leadership: Choices in the Maze" linking leadership skill with the PTK honors study topic. The session will kick-off 48 hours packed with workshops and seminars to guide chapter leaders through the process of achieving their goal of being a Five-Star chapter.
Alpha Delta Delta Chapter of NW Campus will co-host a workshop with Cedar Valley College's Alpha Zeta Omicron Chapter Saturday, Sept. 27. "Thinking Beyond the Membership: Awards for College Presidents, Advisors, and Others" will detail the different recognitions and scholarships for which PTK member can compete.
Workshops will be broken up with social activities so chapters can interact with each other and learn the goals and activities of their fellow PTK members. Attendees will also receive briefings on international activities at the level.
An added perk is a college fair where colleges seeking transfer honor students can explain the scholarships and opportunities reserved for Phi Theta Kappans.
