Advisor
to offer financial direction
Planning one's future requires proper
money management, an academic advisor believes.
NE Campus will offer Practical Money Skills for Life, a
session that explores strategies for debt management as well as proper
credit card use, next week.
The seminar will provide participants the chance to meet
with Greg Mangum, a banker with Capital One, and Dave Brownlie of the
counseling department.
In the hour-long workshop, students can ask questions and
see options for their own financial needs.
Also offered is an in-depth look at the pros and cons of
saving and of living in a dorm.
With help from the instructors, participants can develop
a financial plan and avoid the pitfalls of credit card misuse.
Sponsors hope that students will walk away with a better
understanding of how financial planning can pave the way to a better
future.
The seminar will be held Thursday, Oct. 9, between 12:30
and 2 p.m. in NCAB 112. The free workshop is open to anyone.
