Cancer society seeking bilingual group leader

The American Cancer Society is seeking a bilingual volunteer for its Spanish support group for cancer survivors. The volunteer must be a female nurse or social worker and attend training Nov. 7-8 in Dallas.
The support group for survivors meets at the Northside American Cancer Society office in the LINC building at 1500 Circle Park Blvd in Fort Worth. For more information, contact Robin Perez at the American Cancer Society, 817-737-9990.
Services offered at the ACS Northside office include bilingual cancer education literature, a bilingual cancer support group, access to patient services such as wigs, prostheses, rides to cancer treatments and Internet access. Office hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. For more information, call 817-625-9247.
The June 2002 opening of the American Cancer Society Northside office was part of an ongoing effort to serve the community. Additional resources for Hispanics include bilingual cancer information specialists at 1-800-ACS-2345 to help answer questions and guide callers to local resources.
Help is available on-line at the American Cancer Society Web site, www.cancer.org, that includes a resource section in Spanish and the Spanish section of the Cancer Survivors Network at www.acscsn.com.
