Hispanic Heritage Calendar


   Now-Oct. 2 NE Campus will display Border Studies, a photo exhibition on patterns of culture along the Texas-Mexico border. The exhibition, in Student Center North Hallway, includes maps showing border relocations.

Now-Oct. 15 Camino al norte/The Road North opens on NW Campus in the Student Center foyer. The exhibit includes photographs and stories about Don Juan de Onate's 1598 journey. The Texas Council for the Humanities Resource Center educational display provided the display.

Oct. 8 NE Campus will present Mexihca Danza Culture 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the Student Center's Center Corner. The free event, sponsored by student activities, features the Kalpulli Tonai Teokalli Grupo Yayollahtli, an Aztec dance group.

Oct. 9 Ruben Martinez, nationally recognized author, will discuss his book Crossing Over 11:15 a.m.-12:25 p.m. in B118 on NW Campus. The book deals with Hispanic heritage and border issues. Martinez will stay after the presentation for a book signing,
