The TCC Broadcasting Association, a student organization on NE Campus, will hold a bake sale Tuesday, Oct. 7, 8 a.m.-noon in the Technology Arts Building lobby.

Oct. 1 Do You Have Your Own.Com Yet? will be at 12:30-1:30 p.m. in C-112 on NW Campus. The free workshop will help students learn how to establish their own dot.coms.

Oct. 1 Flo Stanton, South Campus nurse, presents her second health seminar: Positive Self-Talk 6-6:45 p.m. in SSTU Forum Room. The event is scheduled to build confidence in time for mid-term exams.

Oct. 1 Note and Test Taking as if Your Life Depends on It will be offered noon-12:45 p.m. in SEE 130 on SE Campus. Randy Saleh and Cyrus Crosby, SE academic advisors, will conduct the seminar.

Oct. 1 Robert Phanelson will present Characteristics of Highly Effective Students, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. in the North Ballroom on SE Campus. Phanelson, SE counselor, will discuss effective strategies for classroom success, out-of-class skills that contribute to academic achievement and techniques for not self-destructing.

Oct. 3 NW Campus counseling center will sponsor The Learning and Study Strategies Inventory (LASSI) 12:30-1:30 p.m. in C-112. After participants take the inventory, Jim Sherwood, counselor, will help them interpret their scores and learn to enhance study skills.

Oct. 6 NE Campus counseling center will sponsor Career Exploration 5-5:30 p.m. in NCAB 112. This workshop will help students gain information and insights for career goals and college plans.

Oct. 7 South Campus counseling center will sponsor The Not-So-Secret Recipe for Financial Success 11:15-12:15 p.m. presented by John Loyd. The investment representative will give a practical guide to today's stock market and a blueprint for the future. The seminar is in the SSTU Living Room.

Oct. 7 South Campus counseling and student activities will present Improving Your Memory Helps Raise Your Grades 12:30-1:30 p.m. The session will help students improve their ability to remember facts and data. Memory Skills: Power Learning, a videotape, will aid in the presentation in the SSTU Texas Room.

Oct. 7 NE Campus career and employment services will sponsor Resume Development 12:30- 2:00 p.m. in the NSTU Galley. Oct. 8 SE Campus will hold Drivers Expo from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Driver License Express, the Texas Department of Public Safety's mobile unit, will be available to renew licenses, change addresses or have ID cards issued. In conjunction, the U.S. Army will display a Hummer and the UPS flame truck. Displays will be outside the main entrance, and others will be in the Main Commons.

Oct. 8 NW Campus will present Show Me the Money 12:30-1:30 p.m. or 5:30-6:30 p.m. in C-112. This presentation will help students minimize research involved in seeking financial aid resources and find ways to pay for college through scholarships and grants.

Oct. 8 Human Sexuality will be presented 12:30-2 p.m. or 6-7 p.m. in College Hall (NCAB 112). This counseling center seminar will give students a model for developing healthy human sexuality. It will explore the pros and cons on topics such as pre-marital sex, marriage and the issues of sex, abstinence and other related concerns.

Oct. 8 Joyce Fisher, SE Campus counselor, will present How to Get Good Grades and Stay on the Island noon-12:45 p.m. in SEE 130.

Oct. 9 NW Campus counseling center will host Personality Types: A Key to Understanding 12:30-1:30 or 5:30-6:30 p.m. in C-112. The presentation by Dr. Shelly Cavin will help students overcome having trouble seeing eye to eye with someone and will even help conquer the difficulty of communicating with a loved one.

Oct. 9 NE Campus counseling center will present Practical Money Skills for Life 12:30-2 p.m. in College Hall (NCAB 112). This session explores personal money management strategies.

Oct. 9 Ruben Martinez will provide insight into his book Crossing Over 11:15 a.m.-12:25 p.m. in B-118 on NW Campus. The book deals with Hispanic heritage and border issues.
