TCC Foundation goes quackers for scholarship fund-raiser

Country Western star Rick Trevino will headline entertainment for the second TCC Cowtown Trinity Duck Stampede Sunday, Oct. 19.
The stampede, sponsored by the TCC Foundation, is a fund-raiser for scholarships for TCC students.
Between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m., visitors can enjoy main stage entertainment, visit campus booths for free activities and learn more about the college, its campuses and its academic programs. Food and artist booths will provide refreshments and shopping experiences.
The highlight of the event is the 3:30 p.m. release of between 5,000 and 10,000 rubber ducks into the Trinity River. Last year, the ducks came out of a cement mixer parked on a bridge above the river.
Participants can adopt the ducks for $5 each. Quack Packs (5 ducks) sell for $20, and Flocks (25) cost $100. Adoptions are available at all campus student activities offices, Tarrant County Chase Bank or Bank One locations as well as on-line at http://www.tccd.net/ducks. Adoptions are tax deductible.
Trevino, a native Texan, will perform at 2 p.m. He hit No. 1 in 1994 with "She Can't Say I Didn't Cry." Trevino's second album, Looking for the Light, made the top 10.
The event will be located in Trinity Park between the Lancaster Avenue and Seventh Street bridges.
