Dallas to sponsor Indian art festival
A celebration of native arts and culture,
the 14th annual American Indian ArtFestival and Market will be in Dallas
Saturday, Oct. 25, and Sunday, Oct. 26.
The festival will be in the Annette Strauss Artist
Square of the downtown Dallas Arts District.
The one-of-a-kind festival recreates the atmosphere
of Santa Fe with a showcase of Native American visual and performing
arts.
The festival will include a variety of offerings,
including children’s cultural activities, special exhibitions
and an intertribal menu of foods.
The proceeds for the event go to the American Indian
Arts Council Scholarship Program (AIAC), which awards scholarships to
American Indian students pursuing undergraduate and
graduate degrees in the study of arts.
Admission to the festival is $8 for adults and $3
for children (5-12 years) and senior citizens over 62 years of age.
