The Black Legacy Student Organization and student developmental
services on SE Campus will hold a holiday fund-raiser Now-Oct. 25. Proceeds
will go toward adopting a family for Thanksgiving. Tickets to win a
TV can be purchased for $1 from club members. The drawing will be held
Oct. 27 at 3 p.m. in the SE Campus Main Commons.
Oct 15 Phi Theta
Kappa on SE Campus is sponsoring a seminar on breast cancer,
presented by Robin Perez from the American Cancer Society. Perez will
discuss breast cancer detection, prevention and treatment in the North
Ballroom, 12:30-1:30 p.m. From 10 a.m.-2 p.m. PTK will conduct a raffle
of Holiday Avon products. All proceeds will benefit the American Cancer
Society.

The TCC Computer User Group will meet in the NW Campus Fire Service
Training Center 1-4 p.m. to hear Presenting Fires by Ted Phillips, public
safety programs division chair.

NE Campus counseling center will host THEA Preparation (formerly TASP)
12:30-2 p.m. in the Student Center Galley. Resource materials and helpful
hints concerning the THEA will be discussed at the presentation.

John Huchingson will present How to Deal with Anxiety When the Natives
Grow Restless, sponsored by the SE Campus counseling center. The free
seminar will be on SE Campus, noon-12:45 p.m. in room SEE 130. Bring
a lunch.

Stress/Road Rage—How to Survive, a workshop given by Larry Kimble,
counselor, will help participants cope with the stresses of driving
and ways to survive anger while driving. The workshop will be held on
NW Campus, C-112, at 12:30-1:30 p.m. or 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Oct. 16 NW
Campus will host Math Anxiety 12:30-1:30 p.m. and 5:30-6:30 p.m. in
C-112. Conducted by math instructors Lori Blagg and Kristie Johnson,
this presentation will give participants some guidelines for overcoming
anxiety and gaining the confidence necessary to become successful math
students.
Oct. 19
The TCC Foundation is sponsoring its second TCC Cowtown Trinity Duck
Stampede 11 a.m.-5 p.m. in Trinity Park. The fund-raiser for scholarships
for TCC students will include a duck release/race, food, entertainment
and informative booths. Ducks can be adopted for $5 each at 817-763-5097.
Oct. 20 The
NE Campus Broadcasting Club will record its first show at 11:30 a.m.
in the Agora. The show features several segments including exercise,
round-table discussions, sports and music.
Oct. 21
The South Campus Career Development and Job Search Seminars presents
Salary Negotiation, 2-3 p.m. in the Student Center Texas Room. The seminar
will give students some ins and outs of successfully negotiating a job
offer.

NE Campus career and employment services will host Resume Critiquing,
10-4 p.m., by appointment, in NSTU 156.
Oct. 22
Sociology of Success is scheduled for 12:30-1:30 p.m. in C-112 on NW
Campus. Don Mack, assistant professor of sociology and psychology, will
focus on topics such as understanding oneself, the key to success, the
process of selecting a major and making a life vs. making a living.

Career and employment services on SE Campus will sponsor a Holiday Helpers
Job Fair, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Commons. Various recruiters will be looking
for full-time, part-time and seasonal help.
Oct. 22
NE Campus counseling center will sponsor Career Testing, 12:30-2 p.m.
in the Student Center Galley. This career exploration workshop will
help students gain valuable information and insights into their tentative
career goals and college plans through testing methods.
Oct. 23
NE Campus counseling center brings Degree Planning/ Transferring Made
Easy, 12:30-2 p.m. and Oct. 30, 5-5:30 p.m. in College Hall (NCAB 112).
Texas college and university catalogs will be available for viewing,
and staff members will assist with degree planning.

Taking Control will be presented by Sandra D. Weathersby, insurance
agent with New York Life, on NW Campus in C-112, 12:30-1:30 p.m. This
workshop will offer strategies and techniques students can use to help
them manage their finances effectively.
