Doomsayers predict end is near ... again
by Keith Ludwick, Reporter

In desperate need to avoid the blood pressure-raising topic of our current political circus act, I have decided to discuss something a little less stressful: the end of the world.
Recently, reports have circulated in scientific circles detailing the hot springs of Yellowstone National Park. Normally, you could sit comfortably in these springs and equate the experience to lounging in a hot tub.
Not anymore. Observers say the temperatures of these springs are now well beyond the point of boiling.
Why? Scientists have no answers. At least, that is what they are saying to the media.
According to a program on the Discovery channel, the whole of Yellowstone is actually the rim of an enormous volcano. It is labeled as a super volcano.
The super volcano erupts every 600,000 years or so.
The last time it erupted was 620,000 years ago. That would mean we are overdue for a disaster the likes of which we do not want to imagine.
I am also reflecting on the stories I have heard about the ancient Mayan calendar. If the stories are to be believed, that calendar is the most accurate ever produced by any civilization, past or present.
It predicts accurately such events as eclipses and comets. The Mayan calendar also abruptly and inexplicably ends in May 2012.
Some doom-and-gloomers say the calendar is predicting the end of our civilization.
Could it be true? It could be, but who can really say for sure?
History is full of devastation and destruction wrought by the hands of nature.
And, if that weren’t enough, we must face the reality of other looming disasters.
Horrid plagues, earthquakes of off-the-scale magnitudes, ice ages and global-killing asteroids would name just a few.
Among certain circles, we can also look forward to aliens taking over our lives and bodies during the galactic war they claim is already underway. You can listen to Art Bell on 570AM to get the latest details on those theories and more.
But rest assured, I am absolutely positive that if our current leaders were aware of our unavoidable doom, they would certainly risk creating a mass panic and tell all of us the truth.
  Wouldn’t they?
Just to be sure, go and ask the pilot of the next black helicopter you see hovering around over Roswell, N.M.
