Tuesday, Nov. 4, to plan programs and elect officers.
The NE Campus English department is sponsoring a writing
contest for NE students. Entries in poetry, fiction and essay are due
by Monday, Nov. 17. Applications are available in NACB 109 or NFAC 336
or from any English faculty member. Winning entries will be published
in next year’s edition of Under the Clock Tower, student literary
magazine. The top four winners also will receive monetary awards.
Today The South Campus Student Government Association
is sponsoring a Student/Administrator Forum at 12:30 p.m. in the SSTU
Living Room on South Campus. A light lunch will be served.
Today NE Campus counseling center is hosting Discovering
Your Personality Type in College Hall (NCAB 112) 12:30-2 p.m. This session
will offer students an understanding of personality types as they relate
to career choice.
Today-Oct. 31 The Culinary Arts student organization
on SE will sell bakery items, made by members, today-Oct. 31, 11 a.m.-3
p.m. in the Main Commons.
Oct. 30 Tony Strafford, former Yeoman Warder of the
Tower of London, will discuss Jack the Ripper at 12:30 p.m. in the Center
Corner of the NE Campus Student Center. Call 817-515-6644 to reserve
a seat for the free luncheon program.
Oct. 30 Terry Fredeking, CEO of Antibody Systems, will
present The Hunter 9:30-11 a.m. in the SRTA 132-133 on South Campus.
Fredeking, known as the Indiana Jones of expeditionary biology has conducted
numerous worldwide expeditions to obtain animal proteins from vampire
bats, Tasmanian devils, poisonous snakes and Komodo dragons for pharmaceutical
and university research.
Oct. 30 Math teachers Vinh Nguyen and Vilma Manteiga
will teach the basic functions of graphing calculators to incorporate
college algebra, trigonometry and calculus at 12:30 p.m. in C-112 on
the NW Campus.
Oct. 30 NE Campus counseling center presents a workshop
to polish the art and skill of talking and listening at 12:30 p.m. in
College Hall (NCAB 112).
Oct. 31 NW Campus presents a workshop on How to Fall
Out of Love, given by Dr. Terry Collet, for those struggling to overcome
losing a lover or ending a relationship in C-112 at 12:30 p.m.
Oct. 31 NE Campus celebrates Halloween with a Blood
Drive and Health Fair, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. in NSTU Center Corner. The fair
will include informative exhibits. Flu shots and other immunizations
and tests are available for a small fee. Call 817-515-6222 to make an
appointment for any of the shots.
Oct. 31 The Student Government Association on South
Campus is sponsoring Nightmare on Campus Drive, a Halloween costume
party and dance, 8-11 p.m. in the SSTU Dining Room on South Campus.
The evening’s events will feature fun, music, food and prizes
for best costume. Admission is one student ID per couple and one canned
food per person.
Oct. 31 NE Campus, will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony
at 11:55 a.m. followed by a walk at noon on the new trail by the tennis

Nov. 4 London: The First 2000 Years will be 12:30 p.m.
in SRTA 132 on South Campus. With the aid of slides, Tony Strafford,
former Yeoman Warder of the Tower of London, will discuss the events
and people that have made the Tower of London a World Heritage site.
Nov. 4 Karen Perkins, director of Tarrant County Women’s
Center, will present Transitions to Success, a workshop for success
and moral development of women 11:15 a.m. in the SSTU Living Room on
South Campus. Perkins is a frequent speaker on women’s rights
and available support for women.
Nov. 4 PTK chapters on all four campuses will hold
their fourth Satellite Seminar at 6:30 p.m. on each campus. Dr. James
Alan Fox will present The Young and the Ruthless: Youth Violence and
Public Health.
Nov. 5 WIN-R on South Campus presents Laughing Your
Way Through Stress by Flo Stanton, director of health services, 6-6:45
p.m., SSTU Forum Room.
Nov. 5 Home-Based Business Seminar, part of Career
Development/Job Search Seminars series, will be 2-3 p.m. in the Student
Center Texas Room on South Campus.
Nov. 6 Interviewing Tips will be presented by the NE
Campus Career and Employment Services, 12:30-2 p.m. in the Student Center
Galley.
Nov. 8 The TCC Astronomy Club invites the public to
watch a lunar eclipse at sunset on NE Campus in the parking lot across
from the tennis courts. Telescopes will be provided.
Nov. 14 Deadline to petition for fall graduation.
Nov. 19 David Walker will present Hot Holiday Gift
Items for the TCC Computer User Group in the Student Center Corner on
NE Campus 1-4 p.m.
